Culture, Science, Education and Media
In the spotlight
The committee has completed its investigation into the governance of international football. Its final report spells out the steps needed to clean up the scandal-ridden world body FIFA. The Assembly will soon debate the committee's conclusion that the vote to award the 2022 World Cup to Qatar was so "radically flawed" by illegal payments that it should be re-run.
The committee shall consider issues relating to culture, science, education, youth, sport and media in Europe.
The 81 members are appointed by the national delegations to the Assembly and may belong to one of the six political groups in the Assembly or be non-registered.
The committee currently has three sub-committees:
- Sub-Committee on Culture, Diversity and Heritage
- Sub-Committee on Media and Information Society
- Sub-Committee on Education, Youth and Sport
