Dr. Ernesto Valdes has been practicing in pediatrics and neononatology in South Florida for more than 30 years. He holds licensure in both Georgia and Florida and a Fellowship in Neonatology from the renowned Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Dr. Valdes has been past president of the Pediatric Cuban Medical Association, past president of the Florida Society of Neonatologists and currently serves on the Medical Executive Committee for Baptist Hospital.
But what sets Dr. Valdes apart is his constant escalation in responsibility and appointments throughout his service with four key neonatology care service providers. For example, Dr. Valdes has served as Vice Chairman at Baptist Hospital’s Department of Pediatrics and as Chairman of South Miami Hospital’s Department of Pediatrics. He is a noted public speaker on the topic of neonatology in both South and North America. His commitment to improving the quality of life for pre-term babies and their families is defined by his unwavering support of organizations and providers that help newborns who need critical care.
