BIO
A practicing physician for nearly 30 years Dr. Manuel Campo has been at the forefront of directing the healing process for critically ill newborns and pre-term infants. He holds licensure in both the state of Ohio and Florida, after doing his residency at the renowned Metro Health Medical Center Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio. He is also certified by the American Heart Association as a Neonatal Instructor for the Neonatal Resuscitation program. His level of attentive care for Level III and Level II infants remains geared precisely toward the well-being of the entire family delivering the highest care to his patients.
Dr. Campo has worked in neonatology for nearly 30 years and his research of interest is Retinopathy of Prematurity, an eye disease that affects prematurely born babies. It is thought to be caused by disorganized growth of retinal blood vessels which may result in scarring and retinal detachment.
In addition to coordinating patient’s care with other sub-specialists, South Dade Neonatology recruits leading practitioners as part of their team.
